NEW print by Stephen Kaltenbach
In 1969, Stephen Kaltenbach was invited by
Harold Szeemann to be included in one of the more vital exhibitions in the late
1960s that helped define this very important new conceptual art form to the
world - "When Attitudes Become Form" in Bern, Switzerland. Stephen Kaltenbach
exhibited his famous Lips Stamp, "KISS", based on an impression of his own lips.
In 2005, Another Year in LA gallery published a print in an edition of 100
utilizing that original stamp. Although an edition, each print is, however,
unique, because it is a direct impression from the original stamp from 1969
(that is now on exhibit in Venice) onto a 5" x 7" piece of Stonehenge paper,
numbered and initialed by the artist as "SK".
To celebrate Stephen Kaltenbach's original KISS lip stamp being featured in the
exhibition recreation by the Prada Foundation in Veince,
"When Attitudes Become Form Bern/1969 - Venice/2013",
June - November, 2013 (see images from the exhibition below), we published a new larger print in a
very limited edition of 10 prints, signed and numbered by Stephen Kaltenbach on Rives BFK
paper (15" x 11.25").
Both prints are available for sale here for the first time.
