Is reading still relevant in our society?  Stone considers that question with a series of digital prints and book sculptures in this Ex Libris exhibition.  In addition to the exhibited static works, a book signing performance will occur during the opening reception on Saturday, June 6.  During this event, Stone will sign books (that had been discarded from the Los Angeles Public Library) selected at random from a pile in the center of the gallery floor.  In each of the 100 selected books, he will make a rubber stamp impression which will verify that he has neither read or nor written that particular book.  He will then sign each book to complete this verification.

Surrounding the walls of the gallery and book cases, viewers will see Stone's digital photographs of close-up views of books being burned from the Francios Truffaut movie, Fahrenheit 451, based on the classic book of the same name by Ray Bradbury.
